How it works
From the form to delivery, every step follows a written rule. Here they are.
You describe what you need
You pick a product and a tier, then answer the guided form: your company and the country where it is established, your needs, the language of the software (French or English), the number of users (except for a website), the tools you use today, software you like. One page per step, with the price always on screen.
The offer is for businesses established in metropolitan France, Corsica included, and for businesses established in another European Union country that have a valid EU VAT number.
Some needs go beyond the packages: an existing ERP, a large data migration, online payment, several companies, a native app, e-invoicing, health data. The form flags them for you.
You pay the deposit
The deposit is 15% of the tier price, rounded up to the next euro, €149 minimum. Its amount in euros is shown on every tier and before you pay. You pay it by card through Stripe, and it is deducted from the final price.
Your request is reviewed within 1 business day
Maxime reviews every paid request and accepts or declines it within 1 business day. Business days run from Monday to Friday, French public holidays excluded: a request paid on Friday at 5 p.m. gets its answer by Monday at 5 p.m. You get an email either way. The lead time starts at acceptance, not at payment.
If your request is declined, for example because it goes beyond the packages, your deposit is refunded.
You receive two versions
Within 5 business days of acceptance, two versions of your software go online. Same scope, two different interface approaches: Version A and Version B, each with a sentence describing it.
Each version has its own sample data and trial account. Your client area opens without a password, through a link sent by email. It gives you access to each version and shows the sign-in details of its trial account. If your software processes health data, enter only fictitious data in the trial versions, never real health data.
This lead time is indicative. The one that applies to your request is the lead time shown when you paid, counted from acceptance. When demand is high, a delay is possible. You can cancel your request at any time before the versions are made available, by writing to Maxime: your deposit is then refunded in full.
You have 14 days to decide
The 14 days start when the versions are made available. You get a reminder on day 7 and day 12.
- You keep a version: click “I’ll keep this version”.
- Neither works for you: click “Neither version works for me”, and the refund of your deposit starts immediately.
- No answer by day 14: your deposit is refunded automatically and the versions are switched off.
You pay the balance
The balance is the tier price minus the deposit. You pay it by card through Stripe, and the invoice is issued automatically.
30 days of fixes
The 30 days start when you pay the balance. They cover bugs and small adjustments, not new features.
You request each fix or adjustment by email, by replying to the email that confirms your purchase. Maxime classifies it as a fix, a small adjustment or a new feature; a new feature gets a fixed-price quote.
You receive your software
Your software is delivered within an indicative 5 business days of your paying the balance. It is a fresh installation with an empty database, except for the import of your existing data when your tier includes it. The trial version is switched off at delivery, and the data you entered in it is deleted 30 days later. You receive the code in a private Git repository, with its documentation.
Your software is put online on your own domain name, with the DNS record Maxime gives you; if you do not have one yet, a versionpick address is used in the meantime. The domain purchase and email mailboxes are not included. Hosting with versionpick is free for the 30 days of fixes.
At the end of the 30 days, you choose between two plans:
- Hosted: your software stays with versionpick, with the maintenance plan at €99 excl. VAT per month, hosting included. It is a monthly plan with no commitment, paid in advance by card and cancellable with 30 days’ notice.
- Self-managed: you receive the code, the database export and an installation guide for a Linux server with Docker. Your infrastructure is your own responsibility; an installation on your premises is a fixed-price service, quoted for each project.
Prices in euros, excluding VAT. VAT not applicable, article 293 B of the French General Tax Code (CGI).
If you do not choose, you get a reminder, then 30 days’ notice; the export is then handed over to you and hosting stops.
Software that processes health data is the exception. The request is only accepted if you host the software with an HDS-certified host; without one, it is declined and your deposit is refunded. The trial versions only use fictitious data. The delivered software is put online directly with your HDS-certified host and never goes through versionpick’s servers; you give Maxime access for the 30 days of fixes, and the self-managed plan then applies.
The code is assigned to you
The code written for the version you keep is assigned to you exclusively, once paid in full. The shared building blocks versionpick reuses from one project to the next are licensed to you on a non-exclusive, perpetual basis, as set out in the terms of sale.
The version you do not keep, like the versions of a refunded request, stays with versionpick, which may reuse it after removing everything specific to you: name, data, texts.
You can leave with the code and the database: within 10 business days, you receive the Git repository, a standard PostgreSQL export and an installation guide. While you stay hosted, this is free once a year, and quoted beyond that. The export handed over when hosting ends is always free, even if you do not ask for it.
When is the deposit refunded?
One rule: if you keep no version, your deposit is refunded in full. That covers the following cases:
- Your request is declined at review.
- You cancel your request, at any time before the versions are made available.
- You tell us within the 14 days that neither version works for you.
- You have not answered by day 14: the refund is automatic.
- No version is delivered to you: the refund is immediate.
- Only one version is delivered to you and you choose the refund over the discount described below: it is immediate.
If only one version is delivered to you, you have the choice: a full and immediate refund of your deposit, or keeping that version with a discount equal to the amount of the deposit, on top of the deposit already deducted. If you have not answered by day 14, your deposit is refunded. After a refund, the version is switched off; if you keep it, the 30 days of fixes start when you pay the discounted balance.
The refund goes back to the card used for the deposit. How long it takes to show on your statement depends on your bank.
